Generally, the online courses are set up in weekly modules with the assignment from each module due by the end of the week. It will help you to have a positive experience if you do not let yourself get behind. Reading assignments are still based on your textbook. Most quizzes and other written submissions are done online. Some of the quizzes (multiple choice or true/false) are automatically corrected, which means you will get your results immediately after they are submitted. The results will also go to your instructor. Other exercises which involve more text such as essays or short answer questions are done with an interactive form in which you may type the text directly or copy and paste the text from another word processing program. These are called “interactive” forms because there is an exchange back and forth between the student and the instructor. After you submit the form, it goes to your instructor who will then correct it, write comments and give you a grade. Your instructor then submits it back to you and a record of all your assignments are kept in your database, including the time and date that it was submitted by you and corrected. The discussion is an important part of many classes. These are not “live” discussions such as Instant Messenger, but more like a bulletin board where there is a record of all postings. You are expected to not only make your own comments but to also respond to other student’s ideas and opinions. You may e-mail your instructor anytime you have a question.
Student participants could be required to post materials electronically. An online student has the responsibility for making the initial contact with the instructor, maintaining weekly correspondence, and/or submitting assigned work on a regular basis to be considered “Active.” Failure to submit work regularly results in a student’s being considered absent.
No. You will spend as much time, if not more, in your distance class as you would for the same course taught in a classroom. Since you will not have a face-to-face relationship with your instructor, you might have to do some additional reading.
国产偷拍视频The learning processes in a Distance Learning class are “learner-centered.” There is no regular prompting by the instructor to read, study and complete assignments. You must be motivated and disciplined to learn. It is helpful to set a daily study and work schedule and stick to it. Distance Learning is not for everybody.
It is recommended that you do not spend any more time online than you need to. It is more important that you visit your class OFTEN than it is to stay on for long periods of time. Think of it as checking your e-mail. It is good to check daily to see if your instructor has put up a new announcement or if there is anything new in the discussion area. Everything is printable so it is recommended that you log on, print out your weekly assignments and lectures to keep them in a notebook, and then log off. Although you can type directly into the text boxes provided in the activities, it is recommended that you work off-line in your own word processing program, save your answers to your hard drive and THEN log back on and copy and paste them into the text boxes provided. This will prevent you from losing any information if you accidentally get disconnected.
国产偷拍视频Yes. All distance learning courses here are fully accredited and are taught by FNU faculty. They are transferable and there is no difference on your transcript between a distance learning course and a traditional classroom course.
Financial assistance is available for all Distance Learning courses if you qualify. For more information on available financial assistance contact the financial aid office.
国产偷拍视频Distance Learning courses follow the same timelines as traditional on-campus courses. Your instructor will issue a syllabus with course assignments and deadlines. When the term ends, so does your distance course.
No, you don’t. At FNU online courses are asynchronous, which means that students can sign on and participate at times convenient to them.
As an online learning student, your course may require you to purchase certain course materials, such as a textbook, course-related booklets, etc. The types of materials you will need are determined by the instructor and depend on the course. You may need to order only one type of item or a combination of two or three. Required course materials can be ordered online.
You can always post a message to your instructor within the virtual classroom. Your instructor will usually post an email address where they can be reached in case you need to contact them privately. If you are not sure which email to use to contact them, you can also contact the distance learning department.
国产偷拍视频The methods used to submit homework assignments will vary from course to course. Generally, professors will require you to email assignments directly to a secure, online Dropbox or to the professor’s personal email address, and sometimes they will require you to participate in the course Discussion Forum.
You can view your class grades on your student portal. Please log in to the portal and on the left side of the page click the link that says Academics. Next, click the link that says My Grades.
